Twenty years on, the Family Support Center (KESO) – Ecclesiastical Foundation of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens continues its social work and helps the work carried out by the Church.
The Center was founded in 1999. It was Office of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens under the presidency of Archbishop Christodoulos of Athens and All Greece.
Archbishop Ieronymos of Greece approved the decision of the Standing Holy Synod of Greece to transform it into a non-profit ecclesiastical foundation which would provide services all over Greece. Today the Center continues along its path of offering.
Since 2015 the Center is a certified primary body social and child protection and it is on the National Register of Private Institutions of Social Care. Moreover, it provides social care services and is governed by the Data Protection Authority.
It has established close cooperation with the National Center for Social Solidarity (EKKA) and the General Secretariat of Gender Equality on shelters for abused women and children, and victims of domestic violence.
