Synodal Divine Liturgy for the Sunday of Orthodoxy at the Petraki Monastery (PHOTOS)

The Divine Liturgy, which took place at the Katholikon of the Holy Monastery of Petraki, was celebrated by the Church of Greece on the Sunday of Orthodoxy.

Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Nikopolis and Preveza presided over the Divine Liturgy, accompanied by Metropolitans Theoklitos of Ierissos, Mount Athos and Ardamerion, and Panteleimon of Maroneia.

During the Divine Liturgy, Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, Metropolitan Efstathios of Sparta, and the other Synodal Hierarchs attended prayerfully the service.

Metropolitan Damaskinos of Aetolia and Akarnania delivered the panegyric of the day.

Before the Dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the Synodical Tomos of Orthodoxy was read in commemoration of the event of the Restoration of the Holy Icons, with a procession of the icons in the courtyard of the Petraki Monastery.

Vassilis Stigas, President of the Spartans Party, and Giorgos Kalantzis, General Secretary of Religious Affairs, attended the service at Petraki Monastery.
