Today, Fifth Sunday of the Great Fast (St. Mary of Egypt), the Archieratic Divine Liturgy was held at Agia Sophia Church, Neo Psychiko.
The Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese, Bishop Symeon of Thespies, officiated the Holy Liturgy.
During the Liturgy, Bishop Symeon referred to today’s evangelical passage commenting, among others, that “The word ‘Deacon’ bears altogether the wisdom, the philosophy, the anthroposophy and the Theosophy of the Church. Everything is to be found in ministry (diakonia) and we are all urged to become deacons”.
In concluding, Bishop of Thespies emphasized that “We all have the potential to become saints, we can become ‘one’ with Jesus. Wherever you are, Jesus calls you to become a Deacon of Love”.
