The Orthodox Church of Poland joyously commemorated the Resurrection of Lazarus and the triumphant entry of the Lord into Jerusalem on April 27 and 28. The faithful gathered at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Mary Magdalene in Warsaw for solemn observances presided over by Metropolitan Savva of Warsaw and All Poland.
On the eve of the feast, a solemn vigil unfolded at the cathedral, where worshippers joined in prayerful anticipation. Metropolitan Savva graced the event with his presence, emphasizing the significance of the occasion.
Palm Sunday dawned with a spirit of reverence as Metropolitan Savvas presided over the Divine Liturgy at the cathedral. A multitude of believers filled the sacred space, eager to partake in the holy rites.
During the Liturgy, Fr. Andreas Lewczak delivered the sermon, urging the congregation to reflect deeply on the significance of the week ahead. He implored them to emulate Christ’s humility and steadfastness, cautioning against the fickleness of those who praised Him one moment and condemned Him the next.
Following the service, Metropolitan Savvas bestowed his blessings upon the worshippers, invoking divine grace and guidance as they embarked on the journey of Holy Week. The faithful departed the cathedral, uplifted by the spiritual nourishment received and fortified in their resolve to walk alongside Christ in His final days.
