Metropolitan Nicodimos of Memphis and Patriarchal Commissioner of Cairo expressed his deep sorrow for the repose in the Lord of late Metropolitan of Pelusium, Nifon. In his statement to “Neo Fos” and the official website of the Greek Community in Cairo, ekkairo.org, the Metropolitan of Memphis spoke about the late hierarch of the Alexandrian Throne and the void that he left after his repose in the Lord.
“The repose in the Lord of late Metropolitan Nifon of Pelusium, plunged the Patriarchate of Alexandria into grief. All of us in the Patriarchal Committee of Cairo are devastated. From the first minutes that the sad news of his repose in the Lord was broadcasted, many believers called to express their grief for the loss of this great hierarch. There is not a single photo in which the late Metropolitan of Pelusium does not smile. That smile expressed his whole life. His absence is great. The void that was left in the Patriarchate of Alexandria, in the Greek but also in the Arabic-speaking Parish cannot be filled. Memory eternal”.
