Metropolitan Ioannis of Langadas, Liti and Rentini performed a Trisagio service in the memory of the late Hieromonk Emilianos, former Prior of the Patriarchal and Stavropegial Monastery of Simonos Petra of Mount Athos, on Friday morning 05/10/2019, in the Chapel of the Bishopric of the Metropolis.
Ioannis referred to the figure of the Elder, noting, among other things, that “he was one of the modern figures of Mount Athos, who contributed to the revival of the liturgical tradition of Orthodox worship and the monastic idea.”
“His course, his work and his ministry in the pastoral care of our Church was a model, while his catechistic ministry in the community was great,” the Metropolitan noted.
