On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, Metropolitan Ioannis of Langadas, Liti and Rentini received the US Consul General in Thessaloniki, Gregory W. Pfleger, Jr., accompanied by Xenia Kosmidou, Political and Economic Specialist at U.S. Consulate General.
During the meeting, topical issues were discussed in the light of Orthodox Teaching, as well as regarding the contribution of Orthodoxy to the consolidation of the Gospel messages, while an update on the history and work of our local Church took place.
A brief tour at the sites of the Metropolis followed, and during the exchange of ceremonial gifts, the Metropolitan wished Mr. Consul to have the strength to perform his duties in a constructive manner.
For his part, Mr. Gregory W. Pfleger, Jr., expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and the fruitful discussion that preceded.
