On Saturday, July 10, Grand Protosyncellus Theodore of the Ecumenical Patriarchate presided over the Divine Liturgy at Agarathos monastery, which is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
Present were Metropolitan Kirill of Ierapitni and Sitia, the Bishops Prodromos of Knossos and Iakovos of Zinoupolis, Protosyncellus, Archim. Methodios Vernidakis, the Protosyncellus Arch. Cornelius of the Diocese, Protosyncellus Arch. Ambrosios of the Holy Metropolis of Ierapytni and Sitia, the Abbot of Agarathos Monastery Arch. Evmenios, the Preachers of the Archdiocese of Crete, Arch. Dimitrios Politakis and Nikiforos Kounalis, priests of the Holy Monastery and the Holy Archdiocese of Crete, and many believers.
Prior to the dismissal, Protosyncellus Arch. Methodios addressed with words of love and honor, on behalf of the Archdiocese and the fraternity of the Holy Monastery, the Gand Protosyncellus, and stressed that the first Liturgy in Crete of Theodore Meimaris was performed in the Monastery of his Repentance, where he became a monk and was ordained a deacon in April 2003, by Archbishop Andreas.
