The Ecumenical Patriarchate announced that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, departed today, Monday, December 11, 2023, for Geneva, to participate and deliver a speech at the World Conference on Refugees and Migrants (“Global Refugee Forum”), organized by the United Nations, in cooperation with the World Council of Churches and the organization “Religions for Peace.”
The Ecumenical Patriarch will welcome and address the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, at the Orthodox Center of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Chambésy. She is also visiting Switzerland to participate, along with other heads of state and government, in the 75th anniversary of the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The Ecumenical Patriarch is accompanied by Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, Grand Ecclesiarch Aetios, Director of the Private Patriarchal Office, and Yvonne Viga, a lawyer.
