Archimandrite Nektarios Papazafeiropoulos has been elevated to the position of Bishop of Diokleia by the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, following their meeting at the Phanar today. The decision to promote Archimandrite Nektarios to this esteemed position was made just a short while ago during the Synod’s session.
This significant appointment, suggested by Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, reflects the trust and recognition bestowed upon Archimandrite Nektarios for his dedicated service.
It is recalled that on March 15, 2024, Archbishop Elpidophoros of America chaired a session of the Holy Eparchial Synod at Saint Mark the Evangelist in Boca Raton, Florida. During the session, Archbishop Elpidophoros proposed submitting a list of three names (triprosopon) to the Ecumenical Patriarchate in accordance with the Charter of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. This list included two distinguished clergy members recommended by the Holy Eparchial Synod for elevation to the Episcopacy, one of which was Archimandrite Nektarios Papazafeiropoulos.
