European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid & Crisis Management Christos Stylianides conveyed his condolences to victims’ families during a severe storm on Wednesday in northern Greece.
In a tweet posted on Thursday, Stylianides said the Commission is prepared to help. “We are following developments, and the EU is prepared to offer help if needed,” he wrote.

Also expressing solidarity on behalf of the European Commission was its spokesman, Margaritis Schinas, during a daily briefing.
Besides offering his condolences and the Commission’s help, he also conveyed his personal condolences to relatives and friends in his region of origin.
