Archbishop Makarios of Australia expressed in a video his gratitude to all the people who helped and supported in any way the citizens of Australia during the devastating bushfires.
Archbishop Makarios talked about the enormous damages, the human lives lost and the huge number of animals killed: “The pain in our hearts is great”, he said, “but God will always love us and be on our side.” He also told the citizens of Australia not to lose hope in God and not to give up. He urged them to continue to pray and to express their feelings to each other, such as their love. “Together, as one family, we will continue our struggle with God on our side,” he said to his flock.
At the end of the short video, Archbishop Makarios blessed and wished all the best to the people of Australia.
Archbishop Makarios of Australia thanks everyone for their generosity towards the bushfire appeal. He asks us to keep going and not to give up prayer and hope in God.
