This year, three Spiritual Retreats of the Philoptochos Sisterhoods took place. The first one was held in Montreal at the Church of St. Nicholas on Saturday, March 30, 2024; the second one in the southwestern Ontario region (London) at the Church of the Holy Trinity on Saturday, April 6, 2024, and the third one in Toronto at the Church of St. John the Baptist on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
All Spiritual Retreats of the Philoptochos were very successful.
According to the schedule, at each Spiritual Retreat, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated with the Archbishop and the local priests from 9:00-10:30 AM. Following this, from 10:30-11:00 AM, coffee was served, and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the Archbishop spoke on the topic “Faith is the substance of things hoped for” (Hebrews 11:1), followed immediately by a meal for everyone. After the meal, the priest of each church spoke on the topic “Our entrance into Great Lent.”
