On Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Archbishop Elpidophoros celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Vatopedi Monastery.
With the blessing of Abbot Ephraim, the pilgrimage group soon departed for Pantokratoros Monastery.
There, the Abbot led pilgrims to the monastery’s sacristy, where relics from the 9th century are stored and safeguarded.
Later in the day, at the Holy Skete of the Prophet Elijah, the group learned about the history of the monatery and its miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary.
This pilgrimage series, led by Archbishop Elpidophoros, is organized by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America for hierarchs, clergy, and laity in celebration of the Archdiocese’s Centennial.
