“The Hierarchy is the decision-making body, neither the Synod nor the Archbishop,” said Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece, answering journalists’ questions about the dialogue between the Church and State on Sunday evening.
In particular, he pointed out that the dialogue was continuing and that there was good will and willingness from both sides. He also noted that these issues were settled by the Hierarchy rather than by the Synod or the Archbishop, always with the approval of the priests.
