Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens

Turkish media have described Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens as “provocative and bold” after his statement on Hagia Sophia, according to the Cypriot sigmalive.

“They play with any game they can get their hands on. This is also a game. I believe they will not dare,” the Primate of the Church of Greece said yesterday on Mesogeios TV, proceeding with the assessment that the Turks will not dare to convert Hagia Sophia into a mosque.
