On Monday, June 27, Archbishop Makarios had a brief meeting with Dr. Patricia Koromvokis, Lecturer of the Modern Greek Studies Program at Macquarie University, and Mr. Theofilos Premetis, Chairman of the Macquarie Greek Studies Foundation Limited, who kindly presented the newly published book entitled “Language and Freedom of Expression” as an Honorary Gift.
The volume, which was edited by Nikoletta Tsitsanoudi – Mallidi, Ass. Professor at the University of Ioannina, and Dr. Patricia Koromvokis, is the outcome of an impactful partnership between two continents, two countries, two universities and their human resources under the unprecedented conditions of the coronavirus pandemic and commemorates the 200 years since the Greek Revolution.
It successfully highlights a series of current and modern scientific issues that emphasise the dialectical relationship between language and expression and, more specifically, the Greek language and the freedom of expression.
The Archbishop received the book with joy and congratulated them for participating in this beautiful initiative.
