The Standing Holy Synod calls on all metropolitans to deposit a salary into the special account opened by the Central Financial Service of the Church of Greece, for the fight against the coronavirus.
Already the members of the SHS during the last meeting decided to allocate a salary “for the most effective’ treatment of the pandemic.
The SHS’s urging comes at a critical juncture in the fight against the disease. The Church of Greece has already allocated 150,000 euros.
The Hierarchs of the Church of Crete were the first to provide their salaries for the support of health structures.
