Metropolitan Georgios of Kitros, Katerini and Platamon, who is at the holy island of Tinos, head of a large group, officiated at the Holy Church of Evangelistria, assisted by priests from other ecclesiastic regions, and Rumania as well as priests and deacons of the Holy Church.
Metropolitan Dorotheos of Syros and Tinos said that Metropolitan of Kitros is not only a dear brother, but also a prominent scholar, who supports the Higher Ecclesiastic Academy of Thessaloniki, assisting the souls of young people and driving them towards priesthood, so that they become good and useful ministers in our society.
Metropolitan Georgios thanked Dorotheos for the welcome and his work on the hostels and the Higher Ecclesiastic Academy of Thessaloniki. As he characteristically said, “… when one goes to his mother’s home, he feels that he is at a special and loving environment where the most loving and holy person awaits for him, his own mother. This is how we feel here today, that we are at our mother’s home, at Holy Virgin’s house, who shall welcome us and listens to our needs”.
At the end of his speech, Metropolitan of Kitros appealed to everyone to love Church and express their gratitude and reverence to Virgin Mary.
