The Samarinian Association of Kastoria district celebrated this year as well, in due honor, the memory of Martyr St. Demetrios of Samarina and Georgios of Kastoria.
The memory of Saint Demetrios is celebrated earlier in Kastoria, because during the summer the Samarianians visit their homeland.
Therefore, in June 29 and 30, there took place the festal events at St. Nektarios Holy Church of Argos Orestikon.
In particular, the Festal Vesper was presided by Metropolitan Seraphim of Kastoria assisted by priests of the Metropolis.
After the artoklasia (breaking of loaves), Metropolitan Seraphim addressed the congregation referring to the significance of the Martyrs, especially the New Martyrs, for all of us, stressing that the special characteristic that led them to become Martyrs in the name of Jesus Christ was no other than faith.
In June 30, there was held the Archieratic Divine Liturgy, presided by Metropolitan Seraphim and the priests of the Holy Church.
Last but not least, at the end of the events, the Holy relics and Sacred Icons procession followed around the Holy Church.
