With the participation of thousands of pilgrims from all over Greece and abroad, the festive and liturgical events planned by the Holy Foundation of Evangelistria of Tinos for the 197th anniversary of Saint Pelagia’s Vision, are taking place from Monday, July 22.

Bishop Agathangelos of the Phanar officiated at the Vespers at the Church of Panagia of Tinos, along with the Metropolitans Antonios of Glyfada, Chrysostomos of Trikki and Stagoi, Ieronymos of Larissa and Tyrnavos, and Dorotheos II of Syros and Tinos.

Metropolitan Dorotheos thanked the Metropolitans for accepting the invitation of the Holy Foundation and for participating, saying that God always uses people as instruments to make His presence visible.

In his speech, Bishop Agathangelos of the Phanar, said that we keep in the memory of our heart that we honour the Virgin Mary for three reasons.

Firstly, we honour the Virgin Mary because she reminds us that man is, lives and exists due to the love of the Holy Trinity and she is a signpost to Christ.

Secondly, we honour Our Lady to deny the preaching of the Devil that all people are corrupted and have joined him.

Third, we honour Our Lady because she is the suppliant of our call and appeal without ever leaving us.

The morning of Tuesday the procession of the icon headed by the Archpriests will start towards Eleftheria Square on the coastal road of Tinos.
