A series of lectures organized by the Archdiocesan District of Canberra and Tasmania in the Australian island state of Hobart on Orthodox faith continue.
The initiative was launched with a question and answer session on anything related to the Orthodox faith, led by Fr. Panagiotis Mavrommatis of St. Euphemia Parish in Bankstown.
The baton was taken last Tuesday by the secretary of St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College, who presented a short speech on “What do Orthodox Christians believe?”
Both lectures took place in the Holy Trinity Parish, in Hobart, in front of a large audience.
The next lecture will take place, also in the Parish of the Holy Trinity, next Tuesday, May 25, at 6 pm, followed by two more lectures that will be hosted in the Parish of Saint George, on the 1st and the 8th of June, also at 6 p.m. All lectures, which are held in both Greek and English, are free for everyone.
It is noted that for the first time such lectures were held in Hobart, Tasmania and for this reason the Archiepiscopal Vicar of Canberra and Tasmania, Archimandrite Prochoros Anastasiadis thanked Archbishop Makarios of Australia.
