Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece received the President of the Hellenic Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, at the offices of the Archdiocese.
The president told the Archbishop that the threat of pandemic brought them closer.
As she stated, they discussed the essential role of the Church in all the major issues regarding the Greek society.
Special mention was also made of the Church’s contribution to the Greek Revolution of 1821.
As she underlined, “the practical solidarity of Archbishop Ieronymos and his inclination towards major issues are a real proof of the role of the Church as a body that supports Greece.”
