The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia made known that, with the blessing of Archbishop Makarios of Austalia, today the ACT, the capital of Australia has been made into an Archdiocesan District. The Archdiocese announced that Father Prochoros Anastasiadis was the new Archiepiscopal Vicar of the Archdiocesan District of the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).
In the announcement, it is mentioned that “Though small in geographic size, it is a role of immense responsibility being that of our capital city. He will be an outstanding representative of His Eminence in our nation’s capital and in helping to bring a voice to Orthodox Christianity. Father Prochoros is humble, immensely gifted and deeply spiritual, with a broad vision for Orthodoxy in Australia”
Father Evmenios Vasilopoulos, Archiepiscopal Vicar, District of Northcote Victoria, all the clergy and laity wished him a very blessed and fruitful ministry.
