On January 6, 2020, Metropolitan Panteleimon of Brazzaville and Gabon preached the Divine Speech and celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Parish Church of the Holy Resurrection of the Lord, in the capital Brazzaville.
After the Divine Liturgy, a litany took place to the banks of the Congo River.
There, Orthodox Christians experienced for the seventh time in the history of the Orthodox community the Dive of the Holy Cross service in the waters of the world’s second largest river.
In his brief speech, the Metropolitan conveyed the patriarchal wishes and blessings of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and all Africa, and thanked the country’s authorities for their respect and support for the local Congo-Brazzaville Orthodox Church.
