The defrocked priest who attacked the Metropolitans of the secondary synod court with causti liquid was taken to the Athens Prosecutor’s Office.
The perpetrator was accompanied by police officer’s while he was not wearing priest cassock. His bringing to the Prosecutor’s Office was delayed as it was decided that a psychiatric expert examination had to be carried out beforehand.
For this reason he was escorted by police officers and taken to the Dromokaitio Hospital earlier today.
A criminal prosecution for aggravated bodily harm was brought against the 36-year-old priest, who was subsequently referred to the investigating magistrate, who is expected to be given a deadline to apologise.
On leaving the prosecutor’s building he told to the journalists:
“I didn’t know I would do harm. I apologise. My lawyer will tell the rest.”
