Members of the Apostoliki Diakonia of the Church of Greece and the Family Support Center of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens (KESO) held a three-day visit to Rome and the Vatican on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
The delegation was led by Bishop Agathangelos of Fanari, who is also the Director of the Apostoliki Diakonia of the Church of Greece, and KESO Chief Executive Officer Mary Pini.
On the first day they visited the temple of the Holy Martyr of Cecilia in the Trastevere, Rome, where they were welcomed by the Abbot of the Monastery Maria-Ioanna.
Bishop Agathangelos stressed: “It is our pleasure to visit this beautiful temple, in which the relic of Saint Cecilia is kept. Saint Cecilia is the bridge between the Orthodox and Catholic Church.”
Then there was a guided tour of the temple, the place of the martyrdom, and the crypt of Saint Cecilia.
