The Archbishop of Cyprus expresses his surprise at the visit of the Metropolitan of Tamasos abroad for “missionary reasons”, while the Archdiocese replies to the theologian Theodoros Kyriakou that Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus is alive and performs his duties and does not intend, despite the rumours, to resign.
“So any further discussion of his succession is created in evil. A theologian, with his word, should promote the gospel truths and not the goals of aspiring Dauphins of the Archdiocesan throne. ”
In the announcement of the Archdiocese, reports are commented by Mr. Kyriakou, which raised points against the Archdiocesan Office, regarding failure to inform the Archbishop about the letter of the Metropolitan of Tamasos and Orinis as far as his trip to Poland is concerned, as well as various discussions about his succession.
The Archbishop’s Office states in the announcement that the Director of the Office updated the Archbishop and released the letter sent by Metropolitan Isaias of Tamasos, notifying that he will travel abroad from March 23rd to March 30th,
“The Archbishop was surprised to see from the news that his Emminence travelled to Poland for “missionary reasons”.
In addition to that, it is recalled that the Archbishop is alive, performs his duties and does not intend, despite the rumours, to resign.
As we are before the gates of Holy Week and Easter, we hope that the spirit of love and humility will prevail, so that “you come without any judgement and worship the Holy Resurrection,” the announcement of the Archdiocese concludes.
