The Notre Dame Choir will give a Christmas concert of high symbolic significance, without audience, in the Cathedral of Paris, which was destroyed by fire in April 2019, announced the Archbishop of the French capital Michel Opeti.
The concert, the first given by the Choir inside the Cathedral, conducted by Henri Chale, will feature 20 adult singers accompanied by Yves Castagnet on the pipe organ rented for the occasion. Two soloists will participate, Julie Fuchs (soprano) and Gautier Capuçon (cello).
It will take place under very strict health measures and will be broadcasted on December 24 by France2 and the French-language Catholic television channel KTO.
