Pope Francis made a “heartfelt appeal” today to avoid “a spiral of violence that risks leading the Middle East into an even greater conflict” following Iran’s attack on Israel.
“I make a heartfelt appeal to all to refrain from any action that could fuel a spiral of violence that risks leading the Middle East into an even greater conflict,” the pontiff stated at the conclusion of his customary Sunday prayer in St. Peter’s Square.
