The Benelux Orthodox Youth Day, scheduled for October 17, 2020, will finally take place via Zoom.
According to a statement issued by the Metropolis of Belgium, in recent days there has been a resurgence of COVID-19 which is a cause for concern.
“In recent days, federal and regional authorities have had to take additional measures. For this reason, it is prudent to suspend the Benelux Orthodox Youth Day scheduled for October 17, 2020, and to transfer it to the digital space through the Zoom platform,” the announcement of the Metropolis reads.
In fact, the Metropolis takes this opportunity to urge the faithful again to follow government measures carefully to reduce the COVID-19 spread as best as possible.
“We hope that with the grace of God and with the help of the Theotokos and all the Saints, we will overcome these difficulties. After all, we once again yearn for a life where freedom and social contact can once again triumph without limit,” as stressed in the announcement
So, on Saturday, October 17, 2020, the meeting of young people will take place via the Zoom platform. The speaker of the day will be Protopresbyter Dr. Patriciu Vlaicu.
