A Divine co-liturgy was held on Monday in the Church of Evangelistria of Tinos by the Metropolitan Bishop Kallinikos of Paronaxia, with the participation of Metropolitan Panteleimon of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon and Metropolitan Dorotheos II of Syros.
Metropolitan Dorotheos in his speech spoke about the silence of the Virgin Mary and how silence has magnified in all the great moments of the life of mankind and of every human being, when this silence often performs in the soul of man a mystery of sacrificial morale, testimony, martyrdom and big decisions.
The Metropolitan also referred to the synergy of the Virgin Mary in the national struggles and in the struggle of 1821, saying that “…today our people does not intend to assign historical prerogatives of our homeland, nor the ideals and values with which it has been brought up and raised because of coincidences and of a modern new model of state which must eliminate and remove elements of the past.”
