At the Metropolitan Cathedral of Panagia Faneromeni in Aigio, the clergy and the faithful of the Metropolis of Kalavryta and Aigialia welcomed on Saturday afternoon their new shepherd, Metropolitan Ieronymos.
Archbishop Ieronymos and more than 50 bishops of the Church of Greece attended the enthronement ceremony. Former Metropolitan Amvrosios of Kalavryta and Aegialia, who served as locum tenens of the Metropolis, welcomed his successor and assured that he would withdraw completely from the church world, as Metropolitan Ieronymos would be the Head of the Metropolis from then on.
The new Metropolitan of Kalavryta and Aigaleia in his address to the clergy and the faithful, he asked them to pray for him. He thanked Archbishop Ieronymos, the bishops of the Church of Greece, as well as the clergy and officials of the Holy Synod, whom he served for many years. He also thanked them for the trust and the good cooperation they had all that time. He said that he was aiming at working with the clergy and the faithful and at prompting them to attend the Divine Liturgy and to carry on the traditions. He added, “I only want to serve you. I will not be a burden to you.”
