Upon learning about the devastating floods in Herzegovina while on a canonical visit to the clergy and faithful in Canada, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia instructed the Religious Charitable Guardianship in Belgrade to provide emergency aid. The Patriarch ordered 100,000 euros to be sent to the most vulnerable families through the Eparchy of Zahum-Herzegovina.
The aid will be distributed without regard to religion or nationality. Patriarch Porfirije has expressed his prayers for the victims, asking the Lord to comfort their families and halt the floods to prevent further destruction of property built over generations.
In a call for solidarity, the Patriarch urged all peoples of the Balkans, particularly those in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to support one another in these challenging times, emphasizing the mutual need for unity.
