Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia sent a congratulatory message to the Chief Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Serbia, Isaac Asiel, and to all the members of the Jewish Community in Serbia.
In his message, the Patriarch mentioned, “We hope that Orthodox Christians and Jews will always jointly respond to the challenges of our time, uniting efforts through interreligious dialogue and continuing fruitful cooperation. Considering the current situation in the world, the disrupted unity within all of God’s creation, especially among people, we raise prayers that peace and dialogue will prevail, for only through joint efforts can we contribute to the healing of existing wounds and the prevention of new ones.”
He concluded by saying, “We sincerely wish a peaceful, successful, and blessed New Year to all members of the Jewish community in Serbia, in the Republic of Srpska, and to all Jews around the world.”
