On Saturday, 5 October 2024, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew held private meetings with the Governor of New South Wales, Margaret Beazley, Representative of the Royal Crown, at the Government House, and earlier with the Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese, at the official prime ministerial residence in Sydney.
The Ecumenical Patriarch was accompanied during his visits by Archbishop Makarios of Australia, Metropolitan Kyrillos of Imbros and Tenedos, and Grand Ecclesiarch Aetius, Director of the Patriarchal Office.
