On September 21, 2024, on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia presided over the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Saint Sava in Vračar, and on that occasion he ordained the graduate theologian Vasilij Perić to the rank of deacon.
Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia emphasized the miraculous birth of the Most Holy Mother of God, describing her as the Temple of the Holy Spirit and the Ark of God’s sanctuary. He highlighted her purity, virginity, and obedience to God’s will. From her birth to her ascension into heaven, her life was marked by faith, prayer, and complete submission to God. He quoted her words, “Let it be to me according to Your word,” as the embodiment of her faith and trust in God’s plan, which filled her life with peace, joy, and divine purpose.
The service was served Metropolitans Ioannikije of Montenegro and the Littoral and Ambrose of Tver and Kashin from the Russian Orthodox Church, as well as Vicar Bishop of Jenopoljski, Nikon, with the prayer participation of Bishop Irinej of Bačka, and many pious people.
