Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg performed a memorial service for the late Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus, at the end of the festive Vespers of Saint Nektarios, on the afternoon of November 8, 2022, at the celebrating parish of Mons.
The late Archbishop, apart from the multifaceted ecclesiastical personality, of his work on the island, but also his contribution to the Pan-Orthodox events, where he firmly, always, supported the truth for the good and unity of the Church, was one of the Great Benefactors of the Holy Metropolis of Belgium, with the donation of a property of the Archdiocese of Cyprus, in the heart of Brussels, for its pastoral needs and its work.
For this reason, a prayer will be held in all the churches of the Metropolis next Sunday, November 13, while Metropolitan Athenagoras will travel to Cyprus to attend the funeral service and pay tribute to his memory, canceling his program in Belgium and the Netherlands.
