The Feast of the Mother of God was also celebrated this year in Tinos with the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and thousands of believers.
Pilgrims of all ages were found early in the morning on the road to Megalochari, and they waited patiently for the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary to come out of the Church and her ritual descent to Chora, which would allow them to pass below and receive her blessing.
In his statement, Mr. Mitsotakis referred to a great celebration of Greeks and Hellenism and a day in honor of the Armed Forces.
Mr Mitsotakis also made special mention to our fellow citizens who are suffer from fires but also to the Fire Department, volunteers and civil protection men who sacrificed themselves to protect human lives, property and the environment.
At the same time, he stressed that “Greece is finally turning a page and can see its future with real optimism”.
