The Turkish Presidency has extended an invitation to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew to attend the dinner he will host for Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. This gesture is seen as a positive indication of Ankara’s approach towards the visit of the Greek Prime Minister to the Turkish capital, as reported by skai.gr.
The presence of the commanders of the secret services of both countries at the dinner, along with their meeting during Mr. Mitsotakis’ visit, serves as yet another example of efforts to stabilize the positive climate between Greece and Turkey, as per skai.gr.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis is scheduled to arrive in Ankara at 3:20 p.m., where he will be welcomed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan. The meeting between Erdogan and Mitsotakis is set to begin at 4 p.m. at the Turkish presidential palace, followed by an extended session with the participation of the Foreign Ministers and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Subsequently, at 6 p.m., both leaders are expected to address the press before the beginning of the dinner.
Among the topics to be discussed during Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ talks are issues related to minorities, differences in the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean, potential timelines for resolving disputes, the contentious matter of marine parks, concerns regarding the Chora Monastery, as well as discussions on trade, tourism, and efforts to maintain stability in the Aegean region.
