The great feast of the Resurrection of the Lord was celebrated with due splendor and solemnity in the Cathedral of Archangels of Brussels. Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg, presided over the service.
A large number of faithful came to share the joy of the Resurrection and to receive the resurrection light from the Metropolitan during the Resurrection service. Afterwards, the Resurrection Orthros and the Divine Liturgy were officiated.
The Ambassador of Greece to Belgium, Dionysios Kalamprezos, attended the Divine Liturgy. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan thanked the Ambassador for his presence at the Resurrection Divine Liturgy and addressed the faithful, wishing the joy and peace of the Resurrection to be an everlasting experience in the lives of all.
Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg, and the surrounding clergymen addressed the Paschal greeting “Christ is Risen” and wished that the unfailing light of the Resurrection may illuminate the darkness of each of us and bring peace to the world and especially to long-suffering Ukraine.
