Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is due to visit the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs on Thursday morning, showing the priority on education issues for the government.
Direct governmental priorities, as announced by the Cabinet, include a set of objectives for Education.
Initially, is the abolition of asylum, for “real protection of the free movement of ideas”.
Then, the release of the school from the ministry’s control, thus showing more confidence to the teachers and the school principals in practice.
Also emphasis is given on the cultivation of soft skills and the acquisition of certified computer and foreign language knowledge.
In addition, another priority is the effective school-based vocational orientation, from high school, as well as the strengthening of the institution of pilot and experimental schools, as well as the establishment of pilot vocational high schools.
Furthermore, the Action Plan for Education includes the re-design of access to Tertiary Education.
