The decision to postpone the convergence of the Hierarchy scheduled for October was recently taken by the Standing Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.
The Standing Holy Synod, which was convened extraordinarily, reached this decision after the letters received from the metropolitans, the majority of whom requested the postponement of the meeting due to the public health circumstances.
Regarding four Presentations, which were to be read during the Sessions, it was decided to assign their elaboration to a Special Committee together with the submitted plan for the treatment of COVID-19 by the Metropolitan Hierotheos of Nafpaktos, which will be utilized in a future meeting of the Standing Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.
Finally, the Holy Standing Synod expressed its support to the Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and to the Armenian Patriarch of Cilicia Aram. In the first, for the current state of war, while in the second for the catastrophic explosion in Lebanon.
