On January 15, Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa Theodore II and Patriarchal Commissioner of Alexandria Metropolitan Narcissus of Accra visited General Ali Achmaoui in the headquarters of the Northern Military Region of the Egyptian Army in Alexandria.
The head of the Church of Alexandria discussed with the Commander a wide range of topics regarding the presence of the Patriarchate and the Greek community in Alexandria and Egypt in general, giving more information about its missionary and humanitarian action across the African continent.
The Patriarch referred to the great contribution and work of the Egyptian Army which, as he said, has contributed greatly to stability and peace in the wider Mediterranean region. He wished to all military personnel good health, progress and prosperity.
Commander Achmaoui expressed his satisfaction on behalf of the Northern Military Region and Egyptian Army, because he welcomed Patriarch of Alexandria, underlining that it is a special honor for him and for the army.
The Patriarch Theodore gave a commemorative gift, a replica of a Greco-Roman amphora and a photographic album, and the Army Commander gave to him a replica of the coat of arms of the Northern Military Region – Alexandria.
