The tank landing ship “Chios” recently sailed into the peaceful waters of Alexandria, a city where Hellenism has historically played a significant role in its development and cultural formation. To mark this occasion, a solemn event was organized with numerous distinguished guests in attendance.
Captain Michail Tsiligakis, the Attaché of Defence of Greece in Cairo, was present and responsible for inviting institutional representatives. Among the notable attendees were Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, who was accompanied by Metropolitan Narcissus of Pelusium, the Patriarchal Commissioner.
The Greek Community of Alexandria was well represented by its Secretary General Nikolaos Katsimpris, Vice President Nikolaos Kopelos, and Director Georgios Boulos, along with other important community leaders.
