In its encyclical, the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece warns the faithful about a new proselytizing campaign of the neo-protestant organization, the “Hellenic Missionary Union”.
As it explains, this is one of the hundreds of heretical groups that emerged from the multiple divisions of Protestantism. We recall that the said neo-Protestant organization, as it has stated in the past, considers the Orthodox Faith “spiritual bonds of centuries”. At the same time, the same move makes unhistorical and offensive allegations in a recent information post on the internet.
Among other things, it notes: “Greece is a nation that the Gospel has largely been forgotten. Spiritual darkness and infidelity dominate.”
This move plans again this year a large-scale campaign, called “Operation Joshua – Every Home”, between 3 – 9 July 2022, in the prefectures of Karditsa, Amfissa, and Fthiotida.
Under the pretext of distributing the New Testament, it distributes a variety of Protestant material incompatible with the Orthodox Faith. On this occasion, the Holy Synod recalls that the Church, has constant and permanent care for the spread of the Bible to its flock and points out once again that the Orthodox Christians, as members of the one and only Body of Christ, the Church, do not need the various new heretical movements, nor their various self-defined “heralds” from within or abroad.
