The Diploma Exams for Byzantine Music candidates took place on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in the afternoon. It was the first time that a student of the School of Byzantine Music of the Holy Metropolis of Belgium participated in these Diploma Exams. This is the case of Fr. Antonios Tarlizos, who, after a thorough examination, obtained a Diploma in Byzantine Music with distinction.
The examination committee consisted of Mrs. Maria Touloumi, as Chairperson, and Mr. Georgios Konstantinou, Prot. Chrysovalantis Theodorou, Mr. Spyridon Simitzis and Mr. Gregorios Kakouris, professors of Byzantine Music, as members. It is worth noting that the new holder of the Diploma of Byzantine Music is a Clergyman of the Holy Metropolis of Belgium and a professor of the School of the Metropolis. He is making a great job of translating and setting church hymns to music in the Dutch language, in which he teaches, serving the Dutch-speaking students of the School.
We would like to express our congratulatory wishes to the venerable Fr. Antonios and our sincere thanks to both the examination committee and those who attended and participated in the examination process.
