On January 30, with the blessing of Archbishop Ioannis of Zambia, the priests of the Metropolis of Zambia celebrated the Feast of the Holy Three Hierarchs, St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory the Theologian and St. John Chrysostom.
All three were highly influential bishops of the early Church who played a pivotal role in shaping Christian theology and Greek education.
Parishioners were reminded to love God by the example of these universal teachers of the Church. After the celebration, the children received a catechism for the nourishment of their souls based on this feast of the Three Holy Hierarchs, their great love of learning, their theological and philosophical brilliance, their contribution to dogmatic truth and the true faith, their devotion to works of charity, and the ascetic life they led.
