Last January 19, the Holy Metropolis of Pisidia celebrated with solemnity and piety the services of the Theophany according to the Julian calendar in the presence of hundreds of faithful.
The day before, the Great Hours, Vespers, and the Divine Liturgy of Saint Basil, the Great Blessing of the Waters, as well as the Great Compline and Matins were celebrated in the churches of Saint Alypios in Antalya, Saint Paul in Side, and Our Lady from Pisidia to Alanya.
On the day of the feast, the pastor of the metropolis, Metropolitan Job of Pisidia, hypertime, and exarch of Side and Antalya, presided over the Divine Liturgy in Side, after which the great blessing of the waters was celebrated at the archaeological site of Side by the sea, near the Paleo-Christian basilica, with the permission of the Turkish authorities.
The Auxiliary Bishop, Bishop Ambrose of Eudociada presided over the Divine Liturgy in Antalya, after which the Cross was thrown into the sea in the marina of the old city with the agreement of the local authorities.
For the second time, the Divine Liturgy was also celebrated that day in the new chapel set up in Konyaaltı, western district of Antalya, with the aim of constituting a second parish in the city, in order to meet the spiritual needs of thousands of Orthodox Christians residing in the region.
After the Divine Liturgy in the parish of Alanya, the clergy also blessed the sea of the Turkish Riviera in the center of the district of Mahmutlar with the permission of the civil authorities.
