Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon is currently undertaking a visit to Lithuania, following a venerable Patriarchal request, where he met with the Patriarchal Exarch Hieromonk Father Ioustinos Kiviloo and the clergy of the Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Lithuania.
On Wednesday, 17 July, Metropolitan Emmanuel and the Patriarchal Exarch Father Ioustinos visited the Prime Minister of Lithuania Ms. Ingrida Šimonytė. During the meeting, which was held in a cordial atmosphere, issues related to the Exarchate of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and current issues were discussed.
Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel thanked the Prime Minister and the Government of Lithuania for their interest and concern for the Patriarchal Exarchate.
Prime Minister Šimonytė expressed her thanks to the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, but also personally to Elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, for the rebirth of the presence of the Mother Church in Lithuania.
